White Garnatxa grapes are ripened on the plant and dried for a month after harvesting. The grapes ferment with their yeasts and the wine is aged in the old barrels which are part of an incredible Solera that contains the lees from more than 100 years ago. A rich wine that is a tribute to the history and the traditional way of making wines in Priorat. This is a very desirable treasure from ancient times.

Gibertes vineyard is nestled in one of the most remote, wild corners of the Priorat county, in the magic triangle between Siurana, Poboleda and Porrera. The estate encompasses over 572 acres of land, 25 planted, on 98% old slate soils and 2% granite. The vineyards from a terraced amphitheater facing south are surrounded by oak and pine forests and wild hills carpeted in thyme, rosemary, and lavender. The estate is organized around an old Catalan farmhouse dating back to the 17th century, conferring one of the richest viticultural landscapes in this country.

Nice, bright coppery color. Walnut or chestnut honey, jelly, amber. Or vell, old gold. On the nose, almonds and chestnuts, figs, dates, dried fruit like apricot or peach, cognac, caramel, and toffee. On the palate smooth and long, packed with emotion. Natural, appealing sweet start. Umami. Offers salty and softly bitter reminiscences of salty Salazones. Silky texture and lingering dry finish with delicious notes of almonds and coffee.
